5 months and change…
Boo!
by Matt on Oct.09, 2008 at 18:19 CDT, under uncategorized
It’s fast approaching halloween, and my blogging frequency has sharply declined in recent weeks. A certain hurricane provided the initial impetus for my absense, but recently I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with school, work, relationships, finances, and so on. It’s rolled into a giant boulder of stress chasing me through life like something from Raiders of the Lost Ark.
I promise I’ll actually blog and blog relevantly in the near future.
A long week
by Matt on Sep.30, 2008 at 07:06 CDT, under uncategorized
Wow, it doesn’t feel like it’s been a whole week since I’ve last blogged. It’s been a busy week: we finally got power back at our house, so my family and our train of suitcases moved back in this past weekend. I’ve also worked 5 shifts, started up post-hurricane school, and bombed our first test. I hope to get back to actual medically related blogging this weekend.
Healthcare Today Contest
by Matt on Sep.03, 2008 at 23:34 CDT, under uncategorized
As reported on Emergiblog, Healthcare Today is running a contest the entire month of September. Five members will get their blogs custom-themed along with hosting for a year. I run my own server (two, actually), so hosting isn’t really an issue, but I’d love- for your sake- to have a better and uniquely designed blog.
If you think anything I’ve written is worthy of this please submit and vote for it by clicking the
button under each post.
Thanks!
A tire is not forever
by Matt on Aug.15, 2008 at 11:48 CDT, under uncategorized
So I shredded my tire on the way home from work Wednesday night. It was neither pretty nor was it fun. I should have seen this coming- I’m still using the factory tires at 40,000 miles, and my tires are essentially bald. Anyways, changing the spare required a feat of Olympian strenghth… or at least a decent simple lever. Cost of four new tires plus installation and balancing: $600. Cost of ruining planned beach vacation next month: Priceless.
