And promises he’ll never hurt us again

Uh oh, it looks like Hurricane Ike has us in it’s crosshairs:

It will most definitely be a major (3+) hurricane at landfall, so although it will suck for our area, it will likely be better than hitting Louisiana again right after Gustav ripped through there.

On the plus side, we’ll end up having a hurricane party hunkered down in the ICU for a couple of days and will likely get hazard pay.

Tropical Storm Fay

by Matt on Aug.21, 2008 at 10:43 CDT, under science

Is it time to start a pool about where it will go after Florida? It seems my neck of the woods has been a storm magnet recently, so I’m hedging my bets that it will skirt the coast on its way here.
Speaking of bizarre weather, yet another day chock full of flash flood summer showers here. The air is so thick with water you can cut it like butter. Nobody owns a sauna around here, we just wait until August.

If you think I’m exaggerating, the local weather stations (thanks, wunderground.com!) are reporting 100% humidity. We’re the best.
